Should Retraining Programs for Laid Off Retail Workers Include Computer Programming [comments]

As an aged programmer, I feel that the quality of current software would not go up in such a case, but I am also unsure if the quality can go up without a complete rewrite or just use stuff that works that has been around for a long time.
In my case I am using Blogger.com as my main online note taking service.
It is a google.com company and has been around for years so I trust it will be up in the future.
That doesn't mean I won't have my archive and backup scripts that I will use to ensure the proper dissemination of the information on the blogs and to ensure that if blogger.com/ does go down or away, I will be sure to have a complete backup for my own usefulness and usage.
To ensure that something is not a cachine problem, you have to get rid of the cache.
Which reminds me of an old computer joke:
